Today’s architecture is very interesting because we start to see the advancement in technology take the options higher than ever before. However, I see that in someway this is being put to an impractical use in several precedent studies. The Deconstructist period that we now find ourselves in is focused more on form rather than function. I believe that form is incredible, and it makes architecture mean something more to the general person, rather than the select few that understand what this square decorated box is to mean. The trouble with today’s method of architecture however is that it is focused on form over function, so we are designing monuments in the name of technology instead of creating architecture. I believe that true architecture is to encompass a beautiful blend of this form and function. Architecture has the ability to stand as a monument, but more so to live and breath in the public’s everyday lives.
