Touch
​Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter all eliminate the need for proximity to interact. Human touch is left to be desired ever since the prosthetic of the phone has digitized our voice through text and our eye through a camera. New technologies have altered our lives by introducing the possibility of Insta-communication.Touch pushes physical communication through the interface by appealing to the human senses and curiosity. To achieve this affect, we used a new Typology that goes further than our mere understanding of language because we are bound by our devices. The “Pin-Walls” allow for communication through figure interaction and response, while still keeping most interactions mysterious, similarly how the animated fabric on the exterior shields the room from the world of devices. Touch is relative simplicity has been designed to fit any landscape.
Touch uses a physical architectural interface as a form of communication to interact between the occupants. Touch is designed for individuals with special needs and other challenges with current methods of communication. This center allows the opportunity to begin communicating using Touch, by interfacing with a medium that transcends language through a more meaningful and efficient form of communication – play.

We hypothesized that it is due to humans’ advancement of technology. What makes the octopi able to do this and dogs able to sense pheromones on people is because they had to evolve and adapt to their surroundings to do so, however the human species stopped adapting to their landscape once the concept of cities was birthed because it was at this time that humans could now change their environment to suit them, instead of them changing to suit their environment (in other words humans no longer had to evolve, they could evolve their environment).

So we have reverted back, our form of communication in our room, all the way to before such thing as society and prejudice was form. In doing this we believe that in its essence, our room creates this evolved and higher form of communication that the human species missed centuries ago because of technological growth.
